Midwest Erosion Control LLC is an owner-operated independent business providing a diverse portfolio of erosion control services to the Midwest and beyond.

​With roots in Indiana, our excellent reputation and work extends to Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio and Michigan.   We have a diverse and extensive portfolio of work, and we've consistently exceeded the expectations of our customers.  Here are some of the projects and customers we've supported over the years:

Our Team

Ed Mickel 
Owner

Ed is a native Hoosier and has been working with midwest grass and soil his entire life.  After earning his degree from Purdue University, he moved to Indianapolis to plant grass full time.  Beyond Indianapolis, you'll find over one trillion blades of grass across Indiana, Florida, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky planted by Ed. 
Ed cares about the end product.  You will often find Ed on the job after hours checking every detail to make sure it's perfect.  In addition, Ed has wicked talent to grow grass.  It has been said that "Ed can get grass to grow on the hood of your truck", and it's true because you will often see grass growing in the crevasses of his hydroseeders.

Kathy Mickel
Business Director

Kathy has over 20 years in corporate operations, leadership and Human Resources.  With this background of diverse and transferrable skills, she works to deliver projects effectively, efficiently and with excellent business to business collaboration.
Her thirst to continually learn and support means that you'll find her behind the scenes on the computer, meeting with customers, running job-site equipment and working side-by-side with employees.   She ensures that our work is a reflection of the hard work, dedication, and enjoyment that aligns with the values of our family owned and operated business.

Linda Reeves
Office Manager
Linda is a dedicated professional, whose expertise in office management, quality assurance, and instructional design drives the success of Midwest Erosion Control.  As Ed's sister, she reflects the family values at the heart of this owner-operated business.
Linda oversees financial operations, regulatory compliance, and administrative functions, while fostering strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and job site teams.  Known for her kind and caring nature, Linda is deeply committed to doing what is right and ensuring the company's operations run smoothly.
